1. Soak the roll in milk and squeeze it out; finely chop the onion and sweat it in a little oil.
2. Combine the minced meats with the roll, the egg and the softened onion.
3. Season the mixture with mustard, marjoram, salt and pepper and mix well.
4. With wet hands, shape it into palm-sized flat patties.
5. Fry the patties in hot oil over medium heat for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
6. Drain the finished Frikadellen on paper towels and serve warm with potato salad or fresh bread.
Tip: They are also excellent cold with mustard - perfect for a picnic or a snack.
