Terms of Use

Effective date: 2026-11-04 · Version: 6

1. The Operator and scope

1.1. The CaCook service (Service) is provided by GEDEON Nyomdaipari és Szolgáltató Betéti Társaság (registered office: 2600 Vác, Köztársaság út 31. 2. em. 6. ajtó; company registration number: 13-06-038121; tax number: 29071522-2-13; representative: Győri Bálint; email: info@cacook.net; hereinafter: Operator).

1.2. These Terms of Use (Terms) form the content of the contract between the Operator and the natural person using the Service (User).

1.3. By registering and ticking the appropriate checkbox, the User declares that they have read, understood and accepted the Terms. Anyone who does not accept them may not use the Service.

2. Definitions

Content: any item entered or published by the User (recipe, menu, ingredient, tag, nickname, etc.). Sharing: making a weekly/daily menu available by link or through internal recommendations. Public recommendations: an area within the Service where menus explicitly made public may be displayed to other users.

3. The Service

3.1. CaCook is an online meal/menu-planning calendar: management of recipes, ingredients, time, portion counts and indicative nutritional/calorie data, shopping list generation, personalised menu suggestions, and sharing and copying menus.

3.2. The Service operates “as is” and “as available”; the Operator may modify or develop it, or suspend or discontinue certain functions.

4. Registration, account, nickname and minimum age

4.1. Registration is by email/password or sign-in through a third party (e.g. Google). The User provides accurate data, keeps their access credentials confidential and is responsible for activities on their account.

4.2. Minimum age: the Service may be used only by people aged 18 or over. By registering, the User declares that they are over 18 years old.

4.3. Nickname: public functions require a nickname, which becomes visible to others. Nicknames that are unlawful, misleading, impersonate another person or brand, or are offensive are prohibited; the Operator may change or block a nickname without giving reasons.

5. User content – ownership, lawful rights and licence

5.1. Ownership: User content remains the User's property.

5.2. Lawful rights: the User warrants that uploaded/shared Content is their own intellectual creation or that they have the right to use and share it, and that it does not infringe any third party's copyright, trademark or other rights (including recipes, photos and texts taken from elsewhere without permission – “stolen”).

5.3. Licence: the User grants the Operator the non-exclusive, royalty-free permission necessary to operate the Service to store and display the Content and make it accessible to other users solely within the sharing settings selected by the User. This lasts until sharing is revoked or the Content is deleted, except for copies already taken in good faith and statutory retention.

5.4. Copied content: by enabling sharing that allows copying, the User acknowledges and permits another user to create their own copy of the shared personal recipe in their account. Treatment of CaCook's built-in recipes and copying restrictions follows the operation of the service. Revoking sharing does not automatically delete copies already created. This provision does not exclude rights relating to personal data or other mandatory statutory rights.

6. Sharing and public recommendations

6.1. The User decides whether to share and selects the sharing settings. Content appears in public recommendations only if the User explicitly selects this; the menu (with recipes, data and nickname according to the settings) may then be displayed to and copied by other users.

6.2. The User is responsible for making available only content they have lawful rights to share and that complies with the Community Rules.

7. Community and content rules (prohibitions)

It is prohibited to publish Content or engage in conduct that:

  • is unlawful or illegal;
  • infringes another's intellectual property (recipes, photos, texts or trademarks used without permission);
  • is offensive, hateful, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, violent or harassing;
  • is misleading or false (e.g. false nutritional/health claims, impersonation);
  • is harmful to minors;
  • constitutes unsolicited advertising/spam, phishing or malicious code;
  • contains another person's personal data without authorisation;
  • constitutes misuse of the Service (automated bulk requests, reverse engineering, bypassing security or overloading).

8. Moderation, removal and account restrictions

8.1. The Operator may, but is not obliged to, review Content in advance.

8.2. The Operator may, even without prior notice, remove, hide or exclude from sharing/public recommendations any Content that breaches the Terms or the law (or is reasonably suspected of doing so), and issue an account warning, restrict, suspend or terminate the account – particularly for content appearing in public recommendations.

9. Reports and complaints

9.1. Anyone may report Content that is unlawful or breaches the rules to info@cacook.net, identifying the content in question and the grounds for the infringement.

9.2. The Operator reviews reports within a reasonable time and takes action where necessary. Contact for digital services matters: Győri Bálint (info@gedeon.hu; languages: magyar, angol).

10. Intellectual property of the platform

The CaCook name, logo, visual identity, source code, database structure and built-in recipes, menus and content provided by the Operator belong to the Operator (or its licensors); their use without permission is prohibited.

11. Nutrition and health disclaimer

11.1. Nutritional, calorie and other data are indicative, based on estimates and user input, do not constitute medical/dietetic advice and do not replace consulting a professional.

11.2. The service contains both built-in recipes and menus and those created by users; the Operator does not warrant their correctness, safety or freedom from allergens. Food preparation, food safety and checking allergens are the User's responsibility; a medical specialist/dietitian's advice is needed in the case of a medical condition, allergy, pregnancy or special diet.

11.3. Automatic dietary/allergen filtering is only an initial aid. The Service's automatic dietary, diet and allergen filtering – including content displayed or excluded based on daily meal rules and filtering menus and other recipes – is solely an initial convenience aid and does not constitute a guarantee. The User can override filtering, it may be incorrect, and it may not recognise custom ingredients entered by the User or other users, incomplete, inaccurate or incorrect ingredient data, or possible errors in built-in data. The final check of displayed or excluded content – particularly the presence of allergens and suitability for a diet – and any decision based on it are always the User's responsibility.

11.4. Allergies and intolerances. The User acknowledges that food allergies and intolerances can cause severe, even life-threatening reactions, which can only be avoided through the User's careful, independent checks. In the case of a severe or life-threatening allergy, intolerance or medically required diet, the User must not rely solely on the Service's filtering or data: they must personally check every ingredient and prepared food and, if in doubt, seek a medical specialist/dietitian's advice. The Operator cannot and does not undertake to assume this responsibility for checking.

12. Limitation of liability

12.1. The Operator provides the Service with reasonable care but does not warrant continuous, error-free, uninterrupted operation or the accuracy of user content.

12.2. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for indirect or consequential damage arising from User content, content shared/copied by others, use of or reliance on nutritional, recipe and menu data or automatic dietary/allergen filtering, or food selected, prepared or consumed on the basis of the Service, including harm to health and allergic reactions.

12.3. The User indemnifies the Operator against third-party claims arising from a breach of the Terms or unlawful Content uploaded by the User.

12.4. The limitations and exclusions in this section do not affect liability that cannot validly be excluded or limited under applicable law (in particular liability for intentional breaches of contract and breaches causing loss of life, personal injury or harm to health). In such cases the Operator is liable under the law; the other provisions of these Terms remain in force independently.

13. Data processing

The processing of personal data is governed by the separate Privacy Notice, which forms an integral part of these Terms.

14. Fees and subscriptions

The Service's basic functions are currently free of charge. The Operator may introduce paid (subscription) functions in the future; their detailed conditions will be governed by the pricing/general terms published before the paid service is used.

15. Duration and termination

The contract is concluded for an indefinite period. The User may delete their account at any time. The Operator may terminate the relationship in the cases specified in section 8 and when discontinuing the Service. Termination does not affect copies already taken in good faith or statutory retention obligations.

16. Amendments to the Terms

The Operator may amend the Terms; users will be informed of material amendments within a reasonable time. Use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the amendment; the Operator may request renewed acceptance if necessary.

17. Governing law and disputes

The Terms are governed by Hungarian law. The parties will first seek to resolve disputes through consultation; if unsuccessful, the Hungarian courts will have jurisdiction. For consumer disputes, the User may contact the conciliation body competent for their place of residence or the Operator's registered office; the body competent for the Operator's registered office is: Pest Vármegyei Békéltető Testület (1055 Budapest, Balassi Bálint u. 25. IV. em. 2.; tel./fax: +36 (1) 792-7881; email: pmbekelteto@pmkik.hu).

18. Miscellaneous provisions and contact

If any provision is invalid, this does not affect the others. Contact: info@cacook.net.
