Breaded chicken strips with a crisp coating and crispy fries – an equal favourite of children and adults.
The chicken strips
1. Cut the chicken breast fillet into finger-thick strips, then salt and pepper them.
2. Mix the wheat flour with the chilli powder.
3. Toss the strips first in the spiced flour, then in beaten egg, and finally in breadcrumbs.
4. Fry them golden and crisp in plenty of hot cooking oil, then lift them onto paper towel.
The fries
5. Cut the potatoes into chips, fry them crisp in hot oil, and finally salt them.
6. Serve the chicken strips with the fries and a dip of your choice alongside.
Tip: Do not fry the strips too long, as the thin meat dries out quickly – a few minutes per side is enough.
