1. Half-cook the potatoes in their skins, peel them and cut into rounds.
2. Fry the diced onion in hot oil, add the minced meat and cook until it turns pale.
3. Season the meat with salt and pepper, stir in the tomato purée and braise together for a few minutes.
4. Layer potato rounds in the bottom of a buttered dish, spread the minced meat on top, then cover with the remaining potatoes.
5. Mix the cream with the beaten egg, season with salt, pour over the bake and finally sprinkle with the grated cheese.
6. Bake in a 190 °C oven for about 30 minutes until golden and serve fresh with a salad.
