Bacon-wrapped, cheese-stuffed chicken breast is a simple main that is always a hit: the crisp bacon hugs the juicy meat while the cheese melts inside. You can confidently take it on even as a beginner.
1. Cut the 600 g chicken breast into even slices (or cut a pocket lengthways into it), then season with salt and pepper to taste.
2. Sprinkle over, or fill with, the 100 g grated Trappista cheese.
3. Wrap tightly with the 200 g bacon slices so the cheese cannot leak out.
4. Lay it on a tray greased with the 1 tablespoon oil so the ends of the bacon are underneath – this way it will not unravel during baking.
5. Bake at 190 °C for about 35 minutes, until the meat is cooked through and the bacon takes on colour.
Tip: Switch to the grill setting for the last few minutes – this way the bacon crisps up really nicely.
