3. Turn two slices butter side down, top each with a slice of cheese, two slices of ham and another slice of cheese, and cover with the remaining bread, buttered side out.
4. Heat a frying pan over medium heat, add the sandwiches and press them down lightly with a small pan or spatula.
5. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the bread is golden and crisp and the cheese has melted.
6. Cut diagonally in half and serve hot.
