Hot chocolate is a thick, velvety winter drink – made from real dark chocolate, not instant powder.
1. Start warming the milk in a pot over a low heat, but do not boil it.
2. Stir in the cocoa powder and the sugar, so they melt lump-free.
3. Add the finely broken dark chocolate.
4. Stirring constantly, without boiling, melt it silky – boiling would break the texture of the chocolate.
5. When it thickens a little and coats the back of the spoon, pour it into mugs and serve warm.
Tip: The higher the cocoa content of the dark chocolate, the more intense and less sweet the drink – adjust it to taste with the amount of sugar.
