Homemade popcorn is ready in a few minutes, and much better than the shop-bought kind – the perfect movie-night snack.
1. In a heavy-bottomed pot heat the oil over a medium-high heat.
2. Scatter in the corn in an even layer, and put the lid on.
3. Over a medium heat, shaking the pot occasionally, pop it, so it cooks evenly.
4. When the popping slows to every 2-3 seconds, take it off the heat.
5. Salt it, and drizzle it with melted butter to taste, then shake it well through.
Tip: Do not lift the lid while it is popping – not worth it, because of the flying kernels and the hot fat.
