Nothing refreshes on a warm day like freshly squeezed homemade lemonade – and its sweetness can be adjusted to taste.
1. Wash the lemons (2) thoroughly with hot water, and rub their skins.
2. Cut one lemon into thin rounds, and squeeze the juice from the other.
3. In the water (1.5 litres) mix the sugar (80 g) and the honey (2 tablespoons) until smooth.
4. Add the lemon juice and the lemon rounds, then taste it and sweeten to taste.
5. Serve with plenty of ice, nicely chilled.
Tip: Make it a few hours ahead and let it stand in the fridge – that is where the lemon rounds truly release their flavour. Fine-tune the sweetness with the amount of honey.
